Philips AVENT Natural Trainer Sippy Cup with Natural Response Nipple and Soft Spout, 5oz, 1pk

$9.30

This Philips Avent My Natural Trainer cup makes it easier for your child to transition from bottles to sippy cups. Ideal for babies 6 months and up, this cup comes with both soft, a Natural Response nipple as well as a soft spout, allowing flexibility to move from bottle to cup whenever your child is ready to make the transition. The design encourages your child to gradually get used to drinking from a sippy cup while providing the familiarity of a bottle nipple and then the comfort of a soft spout. The soft, flexible nipple only releases milk when baby is actively drinking. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows from the nipple. It’s innovative anti-colic valve is design to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from baby’s tummy.

This is a perfect transition into a sippy cup for babies already using Avent bottles. We are doing baby led weaning and encouraging him to self feed. This cup is prefect. It doesn’t leak and has a good sippy cup training nipple for transition.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I really like that the same bottle can be used with different nipples and tops. I wanted a training cup to help my baby gradually learn how to drink from a straw. I hadn’t used Avent bottles before because I thought the nipples might be too soft, but after actually using them, my baby accepted them very well. I’m really happy with this purchase.

  8. These are amazing shoes! Have held up really good!

This trainer cup is a great option to try for a first cup on the go or around the house. Note, it’s not leak proof so the cover counts but if you’re supervising the spout has a fast but limited flow so it won’t create big spills. You can also use an avent bottle nipple to ease the transition from the bottle which was really helpful for us. It is also easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. Note – the spouts will wear and tear from little teeth but you can order spares separately and occasionally we’ve gotten a spout that needed to be “stretched” out of the package for the holes to open up, a slight manufacturing defect that didn’t seem to effect safety or the spout when we carefully pulled the sides apart.

My 7-month-old was struggling with traditional sippy cups, so I decided to try this Philips AVENT Natural Trainer Cup. After using it for three weeks, I’m genuinely impressed with how well it bridges the gap between bottle and sippy cup.

The natural response nipple is genius – it only releases liquid when my baby actively sucks, just like breastfeeding. This prevented the constant dripping and leaking I experienced with other transition cups. The soft spout that comes with it is equally well-designed, with a similar natural flow that helped my little one understand how to drink independently.

What I particularly love about this cup:
    – The 5oz size is perfect for shorter drinking sessions and fits easily in the diaper bag
    – The ergonomic handles are actually useful – my baby figured out how to grip them within days
    – All parts are dishwasher safe (top rack) and super easy to clean with no hard-to-reach corners
    – The anti-colic valve works effectively – no more post-drink fussiness

    Minor drawbacks:
    – The price point is slightly higher than basic sippy cups
    – The clear measurement marks can be hard to read, especially when in a hurry
    – The lid can be a bit tricky to align perfectly on the first try

Pro tip: Start with the natural response nipple for a week or two before switching to the soft spout. This gradual transition worked wonders for us.

While it’s pricier than basic options, the quality and thoughtful design make it worth every penny. This cup has made our transition from bottle to sippy significantly smoother than I expected. If you’re dealing with a resistant baby or just want to make the switch as gentle as possible, I highly recommend giving this trainer cup a try.

Bottom line: A well-designed transition cup that actually delivers on its promises. Just remember to hand-tighten the lid carefully to prevent any leaks.

This is a great sippy cup for training babies to feed themselves and drink from faster flows. The sippy attachment was very fast, it has one line cut in the top and any pressure on it and the water goes everywhere. The nipple attachment however is fast but not too fast and is what they’re used to right now so learning to drink by themselves is a much easier transition with the handles and nipple. When they don’t spit out water as often (or really when they learn that they don’t have to suck very hard to drink) switching them to the sippy top will be perfect. Right now my biggest concern is just teaching him to lean or lay back to get the water from the cup to his mouth, after that things will be smooth sailing. The different tops is really what’s great about this.

I have purchased this sippy cup twice. I first received it in a registry welcome bag. Once my son was ready for the sippy cup, he took to this one immediately. I tried introducing others just to find the best fit for him but he loved this one. I ended up losing it one day so I came on here and purchased it. When I had my daughter I purchased it again for her. Same experience. This was her favorite. I think it’s great that it comes with both the nipple AND sprout. I first used the cup with the nipple so they could get used to the feeling of holding the cup. Then I transitioned to the sprout. Perfect first sippy cup.

This is a perfect transition into a sippy cup for babies already using Avent bottles. We are doing baby led weaning and encouraging him to self feed. This cup is prefect. It doesn’t leak and has a good sippy cup training nipple for transition.

  76. Nicole

I’ve always liked Philips Avent bottles, and this trainer cup has been a great next step for my 7-month-old. The size is perfect for little hands—she can hold it on her own easily, which makes feeding more independent. The natural response nipple flows smoothly without leaks, and the option to switch between the fast-flow nipple and soft spout makes it very versatile as a transition cup.

The design feels sturdy but lightweight, and cleaning is simple since the pieces come apart easily. It’s a good bridge between bottle and sippy cup, especially for babies starting to self-feed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something that grows with your baby.

  77. sabina

This cup was perfect for our 6 months old boy who struggled learning to drink from traditional first sippy cups. The cup is sturdy and you can feel the quality. Highly recommend.

  78. sara

My 7 month old baby only drinks from this training bottle, we tried several and the avent is the winner. Since i tried a few, i can totally confirm the quality and the design of the Avent is another level. No leaks, good materials, beautiful product. Pity this arrived with the wrong cup which makes it impossible to travel with but when i requested a change, they refunded me immediately. Best product and service in the market

  79. Sonya Landress

Until they master how to hold and tip cup properly to allow drink to come out the bottle nipple does drip slowly. The cup itself is lightweight and the perfect size for little hands to master the skill of drinking from a cup independently. At 7 months our grandson is just learning to master this new skill, and he loves it. I have bought two one for my daughter and for my house and I would highly recommend.

I absolutely love the Philips AVENT Natural Trainer Sippy Cup! It has been a fantastic tool in helping my child transition from a bottle to using regular cups. The spout is designed to be similar to a bottle, so it was a comfortable and familiar transition for my little one.

One of the best features of this sippy cup is how easy it is to clean. The nipple and handles can be removed and the cup itself is dishwasher safe, so it’s a breeze to keep it hygienic.

I also love that the handles on the cup allow my child to be more independent. They can easily carry it around and hold it themselves.

Overall, I highly recommend the Philips AVENT Natural Trainer Sippy Cup to anyone looking for an effective and easy-to-use tool to help their child transition from a bottle to a cup.

  83. Ali R

Good product. I’ve used this cups for a few babies over the years. No complaints. And love that it comes with a cover.

  84. ashley boone

Perfect size for newborns. Once they are to an age to actually use the handles they may want more formula than fits but this is. Great option of you want to see if this brand works for your baby. It’s the only brand or stud bottle that my daughter will use. They do not leak and the nipples are made very durable and precise for their ages so they do t get too much or too little. LOVE this product.

  85. Katelynn Keasling

I ordered 2 trainer cups and one of the bottles to the trainer cups are missing. Other than the missing piece my breastfed daughter will only take this bottle/sippy cup so I’m very pleased with the product itself.

The Philip Advent sippy trainer is the only cup my five year old will use. I was a bit hesitant with the change font for the logo and the measurements but he still uses it like he always has.

  89. Nikki

My breastfed 6 month old has been refusing a bottle for a few months which has made it very hard for me to leave the house or not be with him for even a few hours but as soon as we introduced this cup he was drinking out of it! We haven’t translated to the sippy lid yet but the nipple is great for my kiddo. Easy to clean. And easy for baby to hold.

This cup was perfect for our 6 months old boy who struggled learning to drink from traditional first sippy cups. The cup is sturdy and you can feel the quality. Highly recommend.

My daughter (11months) is able to drink water herself. It was good to start with the size 5 nipple for a few days to get her use to the cup and then transition to the sippy cup insert.
It does leak slightly if tipped up for a long period but very minimal

These were the perfect bottles to help us transition from full time avent naturals to a sippy cup. Love the little handles options and the grooves on the green and blue are helpful for grip! I would recommend for parents looking for a first sippy option.
