I read the other reviews but figured I’d take my chances since my husband is pretty good at repairing these kinds of things. So we got the watch and it didn’t work at all. My husband was able to repair it and then we figured out how to use it–you can choose between PLAY mode which lets your kid just listen to the song and watch the pretty lights; or you can choose 30, 60, or 90 minutes; or OFF. We set it for 30 minutes, put it on our kid and it was MAGIC!!! As soon as the song played he was on his feet and excited to go potty. This kid was so resistant to potty training he would pee on furniture, the floor, you name it–anything but the potty. And here he was racing off to pee without even a whine! Jackpot!! We got about a half day of perfect pottying BUT THEN the darn watch stopped working again. This time hubby couldn’t save it. But this thing works SO GREAT when it actually works!! Please someone just improve the quality of this watch. We’re going to try again with a second one and I’ll update this review after we see how that one works. Maybe the first was just a dud? Fingers crossed because we need this to work!
    **UPDATE**
This watch worked upon arrival and did okay for awhile. My son has never done this well with potty training before. We’ve been using our second potty watch for two days now and there have been NO accidents. The watch worked great for the first day, and the song was cute and really worked to remind him without us needing to nag him all the time. He likes having his own watch and the lights and music are pleasant reminders (mom and dad are annoying ones). HOWEVER, on the second day the music stopped playing for some reason. The lights still work, but they are harder to see and not as good a reminder as the sound. We’ve started using the timer on our phones again, and my son is becoming resistant to our reminders again. I’ll update again if there is anything noteworthy to tell. Good luck.

Doesn’t keep time properly. It takes 60 minutes for the 30 minute timer to run out, which is the shortest interval option. That doesn’t really work when you’re trying to get a 2 year old to have success. A much shorter interval is required. I wish it went as low as 15-20 minutes for the early days of potty training. My daughter liked the look of it, but it just didn’t work as expected so I returned it!

Montre rigolo. Mon fils est content de l’avoir. Ça l’amuse quand ça sonne.

  5. Legomom

This worked great for our boys. Sometimes they didn’t want to go when we asked them to, but for some reason when the watch goes off they go running to the potty with no problem. The battery it came with ran out within a month or so, but honestly anything that comes with a battery (electronics, toys, etc) sits around for a while before you get it (and the batteries provided by such items are usually not great to begin with) so we expected to change it shortly after anyway. I bought a 100 pack of button batteries on here for ten bucks and replaced them very easily (back has 3 screws, you have to remove the band first). Just make sure you are installing the right batteries and in the right direction, then reassemble and turn it back on. Works fine. We have two of these since our first one we had lent to a friend and needed one for our next son before we got it back. That first watch is over 4 yrs old and used for 2 children and still works. So I’m not sure about the reviews about watches not working. Kinda feel like it might either be user error or incorrectly installed batteries. Just a thought.

Also, I don’t have them wear it. We just leave it on the counter or I keep it in my pocket (to prevent it from getting wet in the sink). They really don’t like wearing watches or anything for more than a few minutes anyway so it works out better that way. I also like that it constantly resets itself. I originally thought I would use a kitchen timer or my phone but was always forgetting to reset it after it went off or after a trip to the potty. The watch is so much easier.

Before you are too harsh on this product remember you are only paying about $10-15 for it and that it has no reason to last very long if your child is about ready to be potty trained (i.e. the fact that it rusts out is not the end of the world). But to be clear the quality of this product is truly terrible if you look at it from an adult stand point- and given how cheap decent watches can be it should be made better. But who cares- it’s $12!!!!

The product does what it says: it goes off at the predetermined time and then automatically resets itself. The main pain is if your toddler is wearing it you have to take it off when s/he washes his hands since it is not even remotely water-resistant. That’s how we lost ours ultimately.

The other issue is that if you are away from home the music is not particularly loud. If you hang out in libraries or yoga studios it is probably fine but otherwise whether it will be heard is questionable. When we were out in the city the watch mainly served as a visual reminder to keep him on schedule versus ever hearing the alarm.

But it works fine and if you cannot otherwise keep to a schedule fork out the $10-15 and move on. Just don’t expect to pass it down through the generations, you’ll be lucky if it can last until your next child needs it.

This actually worked! We were so pleased with it! We tried everything to get my daughter potty trained and nothing was working. Once she started wearing the watch, she was running up to us yelling “potty time!!” And running to the bathroom.

All I can say for now, is it arrived on time. I bought this for my daughter, for when my granddaughter starts potty training. Once I know, I’ll come back and update

I wanted to write an honest review of the Potty Watch. First of all, it’s a super cute watch, with bright colors and music. Our little one loves it and was so happy to have her own timer. Setting the watch is easy to do and it will play music and flash lights at your desired timer setting. Unfortunately, when we received it, it seemed that it was either malfunctioning or the batteries were bad as the display was hard to read and there were some issues with the timer repeating. Before returning it, I decided to call the company that sold the watch. My phone call was answered by a pleasant man who happens to be one of the owners of the company. He was very sweet and is making my issue right. I know that this doesn’t matter to some people, but they are a mom and pop shop that started about 15 years ago. Their own daughter is grown now in college and helped design their stickers. I love supporting a small business right here in the US.

Love the style. They’re durable as that you can get. The design is great. Easy to use. Fun for kids comfortable. My 4-year-old figured out how to turn off the potty washer and turn it on and love to hear the noises

I was really looking forward to using this potty watch to help with my toddler’s potty training, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The watch arrived with no original packaging and clearly appeared used. Even worse, it was not in working order right out of the box. I tried everything to get it to function, but nothing worked. I expected a new, fully functional product and instead received something that looked like a return or a refurbished item with no warning. I’m very disappointed and will be requesting a return or replacement.

We’ve been having difficulty potty training our oldest. After we bought this watch, my son’s eyes lit up when it started playing music and he happily sat on the potty for us. Not only that, after an incident washing his hands and a misunderstanding with the term “water resistant” (he submerged his hands in water), we called the company to explain how the watch broke. The owner himself answered and could not have been lovelier. This is a small family owned business and an excellent product. Can’t wait to buy for my younger children. Support them!

The watch came same day as ordered but would not turn on. Tried to initiate a return through Babyz Corner, but told me I had to contact the manufacturer. Called and they picked up right away. They promptly told us the would send out a new one the next day and a battery replacement that should fix the first one. A little disappointed that the item did not work but customer service was excellent!

  18. Amanda

This works! It actually gets my sons attention and he loves the music/lights! I love that it gets his attention and I can gently remind him to go after his attention has already been broken from the alarm.

I took one star off because it isn’t the easiest to figure out how to set it, so keep the packaging for the instructions for reference. Once you do it a few times, you should be okay. But would keep the instructions anyway if you plan to re-gift it to a friend or resell eventually.

  19. Holly Colgan

The watch was very helpful getting our daughter with Down syndrome potty trained however the sound has now stopped working we have only been using the watch since the first week of June. So not even a full month the lights work but the problemIs the sound is what we listen for and works for our daughter replacing the batteries did not work. Now I will have to buy a new watch from some where else for her and these watches aren’t cheap.

  20. Brittany

Worked great for about a day. My daughter loved hearing the music go off and excited to go on the potty. It barely came into contact with water as she was washing her hands and it got foggy and died. Changed the battery, did the same thing without being exposed to water. Great idea, but with the technology we have, can’t we upgrade this to longer lasting, easier use and water proof?

This watch works good as a reminder, but it isn’t very comfortable for my 3 year old, I have a hard time getting her to wear it. I also wish it had a 45 minute setting, but I knew it didn’t before I bought it. We have had it about a week and the writing on the front is rubbing off, but that doesn’t really matter to me.

When we started potty training our 2 year old, I knew I wanted to get a potty watch. I am so glad I did. It has made potty training so fun for our little one and it helps us parents to remember when it’s time to take her as it’s easy to lose track of time. We contacted Potty Watch by phone because our watches music feature stopped working. They were very fast, responsive, and so friendly. We were able to get everything resolved quickly and easily. I am so impressed by their customer service and so happy to see businesses take pride in their product and care about their customers. I will definitely recommend Potty Watch to my friends and family.

When the watch did work it was great. However the display screen is horrible and hard to read, so setting the timer was a challenge and a guessing game. About 3 weeks in the watch stopped playing music, it would only light up and on week 4 it stopped working altogether. It was good while it lasted, just threw it away and ordered a different watch.

  26. Lisa Ann

Was real excited to get this product to help with potty training. It did not work when it arrived. I returned and ordered a replacement. The second one did not work either. I figured out how to change the batteries which was a little difficult, but I was able to and that did fix the problem. Kinda irritating to get a product that does not work. I put the watch on her and she loves it so hopefully this will be a good training tool.

Cute , effective and great Reminder to Toddlers for them to go to the Potty. My grand baby is as smart as a whip but Potty Training has been a challenge. This she likes

  28. L Bida

Bought it for our granddaughter. Our daughter said the timer does not work well. They found it not worth the money I paid for it. too bad we live such a distance or I would get it back and return it.

Customer service contacted me and sent me a new watch and extra batteries! Highly recommend this product! Great product and employees! Thanks!!

The music and lights work but the screen is impossible to see. I bought a second one to see if it was better and it also does not work. This is junk. Do not buy.
