This VTech audio monitor is absolutely perfect, and it has become one of our essential pieces of travel gear. For the price, which is very accessible compared to others, the quality and reliability you get are absolutely valuable. We have always traveled with it, and it has never let us down.
The best feature is the wireless parent monitor, which is designed for true portability. The unit itself is the perfect size to fit in your hand or back pocket, and it has a handy belt clip to attach to your pants, so you can be completely hands-free. This makes it perfect to move around with. Whether we’re at a vacation rental or just at home, I can be on the patio or in another room and still keep a close ‘eye’ (or ear, rather) on our little one. The sound is clear, and you have full control over the volume. A genius feature is the visual light monitor; even if it’s noisy where I am, the lights on the unit indicate the level of sound in the baby’s room. The only perk to be aware of is that the battery on the parent unit only lasts for a couple of hours, so you need to remember to connect it to charge after every use. For us, that’s a small trade-off for the freedom it provides.
It’s fantastic for travel because it’s so simple—no Wi-Fi or complicated setup needed. For the peace of mind it provides, it’s a 5-star product all the way.

We take care of our granddaughter at least two days a week, and this upgraded VTech audio baby monitor has become an essential tool for making those days easier. Initially, we chose an audio-only model intentionally—wanting to resist the temptation of continuously checking a video screen—and this VTech model has absolutely exceeded our expectations.
First and foremost, the sound quality is exceptional. We can clearly hear every little coo, giggle, or fuss from our granddaughter’s nursery without any annoying static or interference. The clarity truly is impressive; it’s reminiscent of traditional baby monitors but vastly improved with modern technology. There’s never that distracting hiss or hum that you sometimes get with older models. Instead, it’s quiet when our granddaughter sleeps and crystal clear when she wakes up or needs us.
One feature we’ve especially appreciated is the rechargeable parent unit. We’re not tethered to an outlet; we simply carry it around wherever we are—doing chores, cooking in the kitchen, or even stepping outside briefly—and we’ve never had an issue with the battery running out during the day. At night or during longer stretches, we just plug it in by the bedside and it’s ready again in the morning.
The monitor’s impressive range is another huge plus. We haven’t tested the extreme limits, but it easily reaches anywhere inside our house, into the yard, and even out to the mailbox or garage without losing the connection. However, two of the four units we purchased had battery issues very quickly. The battery life dropped fast and didn’t hold a charge like the others.

Rating 4 stars because the range and audio quality are great, and the connection seems more secure than other types. I also love that there’s no constant static when it’s on. 4 potential improvements, if V Tech is listening:
1. DON’T HAVE THE MONITOR TALK WHEN YOU TURN IT ON. Any time you move the base unit, the handheld unit will LOUDLY announce that V Tech cares about your baby and give verbal safety instructions the next time you turn it on. This cannot be muted or skipped. It can, however, wake the baby you just spent 45 minutes getting to sleep. I have taken to turning on the handheld unit under a pillow on the other side of the house to be safe.
2. Make the handheld unit heavier or flatter on the bottom. It frequently tips/falls off surfaces while charging. Again, noise while the baby is sleeping…
3. Make the handheld unit easier to carry. I don’t always have two hands to clip it on, and its rounded shape makes it hard to get a good grip on it. The “handle” at the top is too small to fit a finger through. Again, if I drop it, it makes noise while the baby is sleeping…
4. Increase the max volume on the parent unit. We can’t always hear the baby over noise at normal volumes in our room (conversation, fan on low, etc.).

La bateria que viene con el receptor es MALISIMA, casi no dura, asi que si piensas que vas a tener mucha autonomia, lamento decirte que no es asi, lo bueno es que en mi casa hay enchufes en todos lados por lo que siempre hay donde conectarlo y se escucha muy fuerte…. Pero porque le doy aun asi las 5 estrellas?, Porque las baterias son caras por lo que no se puede pedir mayor calidad en baterias sin aumterar el precio, y porque lo demas compensa muy bien .

Overall, I’m really happy with this VTech audio baby monitor. The sound is clear, and I like the talk-back feature for calming the baby without going into the room right away. I got this to use when I was caring for my elderly mother. Her bedroom was on a different level than the one I was sleeping in and I needed to hear if she got up in the night on her own. This monitor worked just great. It’s got great sensitivity too, and picked up any sound in her room- even when her dog was on the floor scratching his ears. It was super easy to set up and to operate. The remote I had on my end I could take anywhere in the house with me and hear my mom from wherever I was. Exactly what we wanted and needed. If you just want a “sound” monitor and not visual as well, this one works great.

After we got this monitor, we have gained our freedom to work in our terrace office, when our kids sleep at night. It has a good range and is very reliable. It it very easy to use too. But For battery use, it doesnt last long. The only thing is make sure you turn it off when not in use, otherwise people can hear unwanted conversations. 😅

My wife uses this baby monitor to listen to bird sounds outside. The transmitter is placed in a window sill and the charging wire is lead inside with window shut. The receiver is used with battery or charger power. Great for enjoying bird calls when the weather is too cold to leave window open.

Units seem to work as advertised so far, in terms of battery life I feel like advertising was a bit deceptive as they are described as being rechargeable units but the instructions clearly say that you have to keep them plugged in because battery life is dramatically reduced if not. Sound is loud enough to hear if child is making any noises but the quality is only so so. Voices are a bit echoic and not anything like crystal clear but again if you just need to hear talking, crying etc they get the job done. For the price I dont have enough complaints to return them.

I love this monitor! It is perfect for naptimes during the day while I work on my online classes! I also use this every morning while I get my 7 year old ready for school and onto the bus! I’m able to carry it with me to listen for baby to wake up! This is one of my favorite buys!
Major plus is the sound quality! I use a white noice machine and also a baby shusher for my 3 month old. The white noise/shusher sounds are very faint on the monitor. I only hear it if I hold the monitor to my ear to listen. But it pick up any small sounds from baby very clearly and loudly!
Battery life could be better.. but I always plug it in each night to prevent it from dieing on me. Without it plugged in each night it lasts us around 3 days of use. Averaging about 4 hours a day or so depending.

海外製だったので日本国内(A-type,100V,東日本50Hz)で使えるか心配でしたが、そのまま使えます！

It was super easy to set up and to operate. The remote I had on my end I could take anywhere in the house with me and hear my mom from wherever I was. Exactly what we wanted and needed. If you just want a “sound” monitor and not visual as well, this one works great.

This is the same monitor I used with my last baby and now with my newest. It works from downstairs to upstairs and even if I go outside. I never have had an issue with this brand and it’s the most affordable. You can’t beat this quality for the price!

After we got this monitor, we have gained our freedom to work in our terrace office, when our kids sleep at night. It has a good range and is very reliable. It it very easy to use too. But For battery use, it doesnt last long. The only thing is make sure you turn it off when not in use, otherwise people can hear unwanted conversations. 😅

My wife uses this baby monitor to listen to bird sounds outside. The transmitter is placed in a window sill and the charging wire is lead inside with window shut. The receiver is used with battery or charger power. Great for enjoying bird calls when the weather is too cold to leave window open.

Units seem to work as advertised so far, in terms of battery life I feel like advertising was a bit deceptive as they are described as being rechargeable units but the instructions clearly say that you have to keep them plugged in because battery life is dramatically reduced if not. Sound is loud enough to hear if child is making any noises but the quality is only so so. Voices are a bit echoic and not anything like crystal clear but again if you just need to hear talking, crying etc they get the job done. For the price I dont have enough complaints to return them.

リビングにあるオートロック対応モニタ付きインターホンの音が寝室にいると聞こえづらく、宅配便等が来ても気づかないことが多かったため購入。本体は大きいかと思ったら手のひらサイズでちょうどよいです！集音の感度もとても良く、ベビー用モニターはリビングと寝室の中間地点である洗面所にフックで吊るし、寝室に親用モニターを置いてますが、ドアを閉じていてもインターホンの音がきちんと聞こえました、文句なしに最高！使わない時は電源OFFにしています。
海外製だったので日本国内(A-type,100V,東日本50Hz)で使えるか心配でしたが、そのまま使えます！
・付属電源アダプターはA-type（2ピン）
→日本のアウトレットにもサイズぴったり合いました。
・電源アダプター：INPUT 100V-120V-60Hz対応
→東日本は50Hzですが、ラジオ・テレビ等の電気製品の場合は60Hz製品をそのまま使ってOKです。

親用モニターは充電式リチウム電池が付属しておりワイヤレス対応ですが、置くことが多ければ電源アダプター接続をおすすめします。（ちなみに付属のリチウム電池は日本のコードレスフォンに使われているものと形が一緒でした）
ベビー用モニターは電池対応していません、付属アダプターのみ可能です。

I love this monitor! It is perfect for naptimes during the day while I work on my online classes! I also use this every morning while I get my 7 year old ready for school and onto the bus! I’m able to carry it with me to listen for baby to wake up! This is one of my favorite buys!
Major plus is the sound quality! I use a white noice machine and also a baby shusher for my 3 month old. The white noise/shusher sounds are very faint on the monitor. I only hear it if I hold the monitor to my ear to listen. But it pick up any small sounds from baby very clearly and loudly!
Battery life could be better.. but I always plug it in each night to prevent it from dieing on me. Without it plugged in each night it lasts us around 3 days of use. Averaging about 4 hours a day or so depending.
