Update: Finally this case with medela is finished!!!!
It has been a pain in the butt. The customer service lies!!! And if you have a pump that is not working and still under warranty you will have to chase them. The good thing is You will get eventually get it.
So after the 3 days I got a replacement pump, the maxi swing. The maxi swing is great. The only thing is at about 2.5 30 min pumping sessions I have to charge it. It’s round so It won’t fit in some pockets of my pants. It doesn’t give you time or battery status, so you need to be aware of it on the app.
Back to the update, In the beginning of May I called medela about an update for the freestyle. And they told me they were out of stock and should be getting them on May 20, but that it was not a guarantee. So I gave them over a month ( as I saw online that the medela website had them out of stock. So I thought there was a chance that that is what they ment by out of stock.) I then called them on June 27. The lady said that them sending me the replacement had nothing to do with what they had in stock online. She placed me on hold and then said they were going to send it to me. Finally June 29!!!! I got the pump ( no cups). The pump is not for the hands-free one. It’s all yellow and looks like the one that comes with the freestyle flex.
So to sum this up, disappointed. I am glad I got something and eventually got my money’s worth. But it’s sad that you have to chase them down. Which is very sneaky, because I wonder how many people just give up and get taken advantage of. Its a waste of money and time. At this rate I would say buy either a cheaper medela pump or get from a different brand. The customer service is friendly but they are not given the right information or they are not honest with their customers.
——
I saw reviews from people who said it was not reliable if your are just pumpin to feed your baby. But I went ahead and bought it.
It was amazing while it worked. Suction was not aggressive and cups are not super bulky. Which are a plus
Unfortunately… Be aware of charging times. This pump worked for about 3 to 4 sessions (30 min) I exclusively pump and if you leave this pump to charge over 2 hours it will stop working ( that is what the representative at medela told me) I bought this on April 2 and on the 18th at 1:30am it would not turn on. I contacted medela and they were friendly and helpful. The lady said that me leaving it to charge 3-4 hours could be the result of it dying as the max is 2 hours They advised me they would expedite me a replacement, and I should get an email with tracking. 3 days later I didn’t get anything. I called them to confirm and the lady said they were out of stock and one was not sent. She then offered to send me a medela swing maxi for the mean time. She advised that once they get back in stock they will send me this one. But at this point I am not even sure if I will get this one again.
But so far if you are relying on this pump for exclusive pumping be aware that if you run into issues with it you should have another pump that you can fall back on. As medela will not reach out to let you know they don’t have any in-stock to replace for you.
So at this point I give this a 1 star. I paid $500 and have no medela pump. The price, for something that can not be left to charge longer then 2 hours ( no over night charging). And Customer service can not send you a replacement and will not let you know if it is out of stock.
I will update this review with final results

UPDATED: It has been 6 months and I HATE THIS PUMP! I hate it so much it’s 5AM and I am typing this out instead of sleeping bc I want to smash this damn thing into bits. First off you can never get the damn thing on your nipples the exact same time every time. You have to be in the bright lights, lining it up and it never works the first time, constantly relining it up. IF you don’t line it up just right then you waste 15-30 minutes of pumping bc there barely a drop in there. BUT I produce so much I know my breasts are full and usually on my Spectra I can pull 10 oz no problem. On this…sometimes 5 oz sometimes 1 oz. it’s awful. To solve this problem? Then you have to have a super tight bra to smash them between OR else it isn’t powerful enough to stay in place and suction enough milk off. Then the tube that connects to the unit pulls out with the SLIGHTS tension! It will come out and fall the the ground in a heartbeat. This is a huge flaw!!! Where the tube connects to the egg cups is pressed in so TIGHT that you have to pry it out with your fingers. It hurts so much if you have any hand or finger issues OR long nails. They will snap those suckers off. The unit has NO CLIP or anchor to your body other than a stupid ass wrist strap that makes NO SENSE!!! IT IS HANDS FREE!!! WHY PUT A WRIST STRAP ON IT! Then in the last 30 days the touch screen WILL NOT WORK after 10 mins in your pocket. It won’t shut off or pause so I have to hold the TINY ASS power button till it shuts off. I am so disappointed in the LARGE AMOUNT of money I spent on this stupid frickin pump. You can’t buy replacements parts. You can’t buy the little yellow things so DON’T break those or you’re out $300!!! Also it is NOT quiet. You set it on something it rattles like a paint mixer. This wouldn’t be a deal breaker BUT even in your pocket it is loud. I WOULD LOVE MY MONEY BACK AND THE TIME I SPENT ON THIS DAMN DEVICE
So I needed something hands free and powerful. I thought the other brands were lacking and I liked that this brand has a remote instead of looking down at the top of the “egg”. So here are a few things are 4 weeks of using:
Cons: really hard to take apart and pop back together. they fit well and snap but even my husband wants to chuck them. Next the suction of the machine even at full charge doesn’t come close to my spectra 2. I pumped from my S2 after this medela Freestyle and got 5 more ounces. Also they need to offer more egg shell sold separately. cleaning and sanitizing everything takes away from my sleep so much. Also the motor is loud, esp laying it down on a counter. It needs a belt clip as well. where do I stick this vibrating noice maker? I don’t always have pockets when I’m pumping and the wrist strap is stupid, it’s heavy machine and I need my hands free. Hard to aim the nipple in the hole just right. Also the port holes at the top where you plug in the egg to machine, dude that are so hard to pop out for ppl with hand disabilities. even my husband had a hard time.
Pros: it is not too loud when not on a hard surface, in the beginning it pumped a lot better. it now been losing sucking power with with increased levels. It does pull good amount of liquid. It is hands free and hasn’t leaked at all
Overall: not yet worth 350 personally but I needed one that was hands free and the other models don’t work for me because I need the remote feature. I can’t vend my neck well. I think if it had longer sucking power it would be great.

I honestly didn’t expect to love the Medela Freestyle as much as I do. I had heard so many stories about hands-free options causing supply dips due to incomplete emptying, so I was wary of straying from my Spectra pump. But I’ve been VERY pleasantly surprised!
In terms of output, I’m seeing comparable results to my standard plug-in pump with only about 4 extra minutes of pumping time per session. For the ability to move around and not be tethered to a wall, that’s more than worth it. That’s a small tradeoff for the freedom to move around and actually do things while I pump.s
Compared to other hands-free pumps I’ve tried (like the Willow), this one is much more user-friendly. The setup is intuitive, the controls are simple, and the whole experience feels streamlined and user friendly. With a newborn, I just don’t have time to troubleshoot complicated gadgets while juggling everything.
One of my favorite features: there are only 3 parts to clean per side!!! That’s it. And they’re incredibly easy to wash, which makes a huge difference when you’re pumping multiple times a day and already exhausted.
Small critique: the touchscreen is a bit too sensitive, so if you slip the pump into a pocket or bump it the wrong way, it can accidentally pause. It’s not a dealbreaker at all, but something to be mindful of. Other than that tiny note, I have zero complaints. This pump has made my daily routine so much more manageable.
If you’re on the fence about hands-free pumps or worried about supply issues, this one is 100% worth trying. It’s a great balance of convenience and performance — and it’s now my go-to for daytime pumping sessions.

Solo me sirvió 20 días.

I absolutely LOVE this pump. I was quite skeptical buying the Freestyle after reading mixed reviews – I am so happy that I went with it. I was struggling to find a good pump to help increase my milk supply and I tried two wearable breast pumps (Mom Cozy and a knock off brand) and found that they weren’t effective and were actually painful despite being fitted by a lactation consultant. After trying those options, I opted for the Medela Symphony which is the plug in pump used in hospitals. It was effective, but I was going a little crazy with being stuck to a stationary machine. Then comes the Freestyle, which to my surprise is as effective as Medela’s hospital grade version so I am able to work up to increasing my milk supply while having a bit of freedom. In response to other people’s complaints, yes the pump is a bit on the loud side, however, the pump is +++ effective and you’re probably just using it around the house anyways. It’s portable and a bit on the bigger side which is understandably so in order to be a strong pump. Second, some people say that it’s tough to open and close the cups, which I think is what you want as there is no leakage. If you figure out where to apply a bit of pressure on the plastic, it opens quite easily. The touch screen is great and it holds a pretty good charge. The cups are comfortable and haven’t led to any chafing. Also, I am thrilled with how few parts there are to clean which makes it an easy turn around! Overall, I am very happy with my decision to get this pump – it has given me peace of mind to have finally found the perfect solution for a pump!

I LOVE this pump compared to everything else ive tried with this baby.. Had my 2nd baby 21 years after my first. The medela pump i had 21 years ago was amazing but sadly no longer made. This pump is easy to coean, only 3 pieces, it hasnt an excellent seal, its only leaked once and that was because i didnt completely snap the pieces into place together. It does have an opening at the top, so if you bend over far enough your milk pours out of the top, but I haven’t had an issue with spilling. I use the opening on top to pour the milk into my bags. The pump is a little loud, and louder the higher the suction goes. You do have to hang the motor part around your neck, but lanyard is included. Its not the most discreet pump, but compared to the others I’ve tried, its the best so far. What makes this one top ranked for me is the suction power and the fact that i can move with it without spilling my milk all over my clothes. For comparison: I bought the medela pump in style, it does a decent job, not too many parts, but you are tethered to a wall. I had the elvie portable pumps, those are ok, quiet, but they spill and leak if you bend just a little too much or walk a litle too hard, and they have a lot of parts to clean. Tried the momcozy, they are pretty loud compared to the elvie, and the suction power isnt as strong as the medela, and they too have too many parts to clean.
