Simmons Kids Bedside Bassinet Keeps Baby Close

The Simmons Kids Bedside Bassinet is designed to provide baby with a separate sleeping area while allowing parents to keep their little one nearby.

Its slim base can slide underneath compatible beds, sofas and chairs, bringing the bassinet closer without requiring baby to share the adult sleeping surface. This can be particularly convenient for nighttime feeding, comforting and checking on your newborn.

5 Adjustable Height Positions

Beds can vary considerably in height, so the City Sleeper offers five adjustable height settings.

Parents can select the appropriate setting for their furniture while following the manufacturer’s positioning and clearance requirements.

Breathable Airflow Mesh Sides

Mesh panels surround the baby’s sleeping area to encourage airflow while providing parents with an unobstructed view.

The see-through design makes it easier to check on your little one from your bed or nearby seating area without unnecessarily disturbing them.

Slim Base with Wheels

The Simmons Kids By The Bed City Sleeper features a space-conscious base with wheels for easier positioning.

Its slim footprint is specifically designed to slide underneath compatible furniture, helping bring the baby’s sleep surface closer to the parent while maintaining a separate sleeping space.

Convenient Storage Pockets

Large storage pockets are positioned at both ends of the bassinet, giving parents convenient space for lightweight baby essentials.

Keep items such as burp cloths, pacifiers and other small necessities nearby so they’re easier to reach during nighttime care.

For safety, always follow the manufacturer’s guidance about what may be stored in or around the bassinet.

Mattress Pad & Fitted Sheet Included

The bassinet comes with a 1-inch mattress pad and fitted sheet, providing the intended sleep surface without requiring parents to purchase these basic components separately.

The fitted sheet is washable for easier maintenance when dealing with everyday baby messes.

Only use mattresses, pads, sheets and accessories approved by the manufacturer for this bassinet.

Neutral Grey Tweed Design

The Grey Tweed finish provides a modern, understated appearance that can coordinate easily with many bedroom and nursery styles.

Combined with its relatively narrow footprint, the bassinet is a practical option for parents who want baby nearby without adding a large traditional crib beside their bed.

JPMA Certified Baby Bassinet

According to the supplied manufacturer information, the Simmons Kids Bedside Bassinet is JPMA certified and designed to meet or exceed applicable ASTM and CPSC safety standards.

Parents should always assemble and use the bassinet according to the manufacturer’s current instructions and discontinue use when their baby reaches the stated developmental or weight limits.

  1. Mrs. Mcginty –

Parents were placed with this purchase. It was a gift.

  2. All4you –

I bought this for my daughter. She loves it. After having a c section, it has made her life so much easier. It sits up higher and you can pull it even with the bed for those sleepless nights of feedings. She did say that she wished it had wheels which would have it much easier to move back and forth but she said that wasn’t a deal breaker for her.

It doesn’t have a fold down side but it is more shallow than the ones that do have that feature. My daughter says she would recommend this over the others (she had a different one for the first baby so she is familiar with the other type).

So I did not order this bassinet for a baby. I was trying to find something I can use for my mom’s codependent pup when I watch her for a week at a time every month as my mom travels alot but sadly the pup is very attached to my mom and I. However in the beginning I was allowing her on the bed so she felt comfortable but sadly my husband’s allergies were acting up pretty bad to wear she just couldn’t be in the bed any longer trying to keep her on a bed on the floor or even close by on a lazy boy chair was just having her wine all night and then hubby was able to breath but I in return got no sleep so I started to search up ways that I might be able to have the best of both worlds and this was perfect. It’s simple small enough sturdy and adjustable to the height of the bed and she can see me and be right next to me in her own bed it’s fantastic and affordable 👌 win win

This bassinet has been a life saver with our second baby. We live in a 5th wheel camper so our bedroom isn’t very big. However, this bassinet fits perfectly next to our bed and still leaves us plenty of space! Now baby can sleep next to us and we don’t have to move far for middle of the night wakings!

  6. All4you –

This is the second one I’ve had and love it. (Should have kept the first for another baby, oh well)

I’ve looked at hundreds of bassinets and none of them fit the simple description I was looking for.

I wanted simple, compact bassinet area, no frills, no crazy legs and tall.

My bed is rather tall and I wanted one that would fit next to it well. Some of the bassinets had weird legs that stuck out and looked like trip hazards. I didnt want anything with wires or power or movement.

This one fit all the boxes! The legs are great and stable. It’s adjustable to a nice height, higher than others I look at. It’s also not bad to look at. I lean towards minimalism and I like the simplicity of it. And lastly, the price is fair and worth every penny.

    It’s worth it

My wife and I have a small Master bedroom. Space is a HUGE issue. We were bringing home this brand new baby and weren’t sure if we could fit a bassinet in the room. This Bassinet makes it super easy. The legs slide under the bed and you adjust the height as needed. That being said, we have a taller Queen size bed. It’s maybe 30+” roughly from the bottom of the floor to the top of the mattress, we did not want to extend this bassinet above and over our bed as that would take up room in the bed however we were able to match the height comfortably and get it aligned were if and when our daughter woke or cried my wife could simply turn to her with ease. No over reaching, no climbing. It was great! But keep in mind that the bassinet is on the smaller side cause fast forward 4 months later and my daughter is growing rapidly. She can fit inside it still but, shes able to scratch at the sides, grab them, and pull herself around so we felt in time to move her to something larger (her crib).

    All that being said:

PROS: Strong, easy to assemble, looks pretty good with the neutral look. Very Sturdy and Safe. Has a pouch on the side for bibs, pacifiers, spit rags. (not necessary for us.)

Cons: The pouch on the side is shallow. The height adjust works but it only has like 5 – 6 levels. (should be able to accommodate mid level height to higher beds ie: beds with frame/ box springs/ mattresses.)

There are no wheels (But your bassinet shouldn’t be rolling around with a baby inside anyways.) Still would be nice to move with ease for cleaning in a smaller space.

Over all, we are happy. It doesn’t break the bank and works as needed. If you need to save space and want something reliable. Get it!

  9. Emma VanWinkle –

Works great just way heavier than it looks. I should have paid more attention to the weight on the product page, not easy to move from room to room or roll around the living room.

  10. Alec –

Las llantas noa funcionan. Esta super poco profundo, de manera q el bebe en cualquier giro despues del mes puede caerse. Cero lo recomiendo.

For the price it was a good deal. I needed a beside bassinet tall enough for our bed and it provided the height required. My issues were that the mesh sides of the bassinet can only be wiped down. You can’t throw the cover in the wash if it gets dirty or soiled. That was a problem since my little one has severe reflux, and the sides constantly got bile and spit up on them. Another downside is that the mattress provided is very thin, as well as the provided sheet. You also can’t really find replacement sheets because the dimensions are not common and the company doesn’t sell replacement sheets. We got good use out of it, but I don’t think it is a bassinet I would purchase again.

Good quality product. Sturdy frame and safe sleep space for infant

Difficult to put together and does not slide at all. It makes trying to move the bassinet to a different room inconvenient and not an option to take it along during travel.

Would prefer a bassinet that is more portable.

  15. Wiwi –

I am going to give 5 stars because, for now, it looks and feels sturdy and safe. My baby hasn’t arrived yet, but I feel I have a safe place for him. The size is perfect for my narrow room. It was relatively easy to assemble (just needed to apply some pressure). It does feel kind of heavy, but I’m going to give a plus because it will be safer that the bassinet is not wobbly. Another plus is that the company offers you options in case of difficulties, missing parts, or product function, and I value that a lot. I’ve had bad experiences with other companies that should have this same service instead of just returning the product. So, this product and company show promise. 👍🏼

  17. Mrs. Mcginty –

My wife and I bought this for our baby daughter, wanting to have her with us in the room but not in our bed. For that purpose, it works fine. It does tuck under our bed reasonably well but does not sit high enough to not be pushed up my our mattress. We do have an extra-tall bed, to be fair.

The bassinet as a whole is relatively well-made and is easy to assemble. It has wheels so it can be slid around the floor more easily, but I find myself just picking it up to move it as it’s not terribly heavy. The only real complaint I have about it is that it doesn’t appear to sit flat. I’ve noticed the bassinet tilted ever-so-slightly to one side, which could be an issue for some folks. My baby will lean over to that side a bit but doesn’t really mind.

Especially considering how expensive competing options are, if cost is a major factor for you as it was for us, definitely give this a shot. It’ll get the job done.

  19. Pete Webb –

This bassinet is exactly what I was looking for! Our bed is tall, and with my previous child I struggled getting her in and out of her bassinet when I was in bed next to her. This one is the perfect height! It looks nice and was easy to assemble. No bells and whistles, but perfect for a regular bedside bassinet.

  20. Cody –

This bassinet is wonderful quality AND a wonderfully reasonable price. The legs angle under the bed nicely for fewer stubbed toes. We have a really high bed, and the bassinet doesn’t get tall enough to actually sit over the bed, but I actually prefer it that way. I don’t want it to take up any of my sleeping room lol

It’s sturdy and light enough to move into other rooms if you want baby near you during the day for naps in those early days. Our baby has slept in it since day one, and now 2 months later it’s still going strong.

The mattress IS thin, as others have mentioned. It never seemed to bother my baby, but her little head does start making a depression after a while. I just rotate or flip the mattress and it’s not a problem.

***UPDATE: 18 months later, and baby #2 is sleeping in this bassinet. Still love it! We tried out the UppaBaby bassinet because it came with some the system we bought from someone. This one is defo my favorite!
