I picked this up to keep an eye on our baby’s room and to use as a general security cam when we’re away. It’s been great for both. For the price, it really delivers.
Setup took less than 10 minutes. The app walks you through everything, and once it’s connected, the live feed loads quickly. The video quality is surprisingly clear, even at night. We’ve used it mostly in low light, and the night vision works well. No weird blurriness or lag.
One of the features I didn’t expect to like as much as I do is the motion detection. It sends alerts straight to my phone, and they’re pretty accurate. Not overly sensitive but still pick up what I need. I also like that it supports both local storage (with a microSD card) and cloud, so you’re not locked into a subscription if you don’t want it.
Pros: • Crystal clear 1080p video (better than some higher-end cameras I’ve used) • Works with Alexa and Google Assistant • Two-way audio is actually useful. I tested it to calm our dog when we were out • Very affordable and doesn’t feel cheap

We bought this camera because our 5-year-old likes to delay bedtime by playing and gets out of bed as soon as we close the door. We wanted a way to see what he does and reinforce him to go back to sleep. We only use it at night when he goes to bed.
This picture shows the quality during the day, and it’s amazing! The two-way audio and both day and night vision are incredible. I also love that there’s no subscription required. We added an SD card for playback, and it works perfectly.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I couldn’t be happier with this indoor camera. From the moment I set it up, it’s exceeded my expectations in every way. The setup was incredibly simple—just a few minutes and it was up and running on my phone. The video quality is crystal clear, even at night. The infrared night vision really surprised me with how sharp and detailed everything looks in low light.

I bought two of these and the Pt travel router, which has every option and different configurations to plug it in to a hotel room or whatever works like a charm to figure it out. I’m so glad I bought these. These are great. They have a panoramic vision view. You can look at the view on your phone if you hook it up to the Wi-Fi in the at the property where you are it works from afar so if you’re out and about it as a cloud service, I use a local card to put in mine just one from Babyz Corner you can erase those easily anyway it works great. It works the night vision it picks up sound. You can also use the microphone so you can tell someone to get out of your space or maybe you wanna send a message or talk to your dog it’s great. It’s great inexpensive and great. The cord is about 10 feet long. It looks like it I’ve got plugged in right now and it’s really a long cord. Anyway these are great. They attached to the wall sit up straight. You can hide them. I have a white window in the black one, hiding them by putting them against or near something that’s black and then vice versa for the white obviously that’s what I did because I’m in a hotel room. I can’t touch the wall and I really don’t want to and I tell someone in some nonchalant way that I’m oh yeah that camera in my room just because I don’t wanna cross some line but at least then someone knows I’ve got cameras in my room just in case someone comes in I’ve got a record of that visit if I’m there or not there

Este modelo (C 100) y esta marca (TAPO) me pareció muy bueno, no conozco otras, por lo bien que se ve la imagen y sus funciones: un zoom muy bueno; audio bidireccional puedo hablar con alguien cerca de la cámara en mi casa estando yo fuera y lejos; me envía notificaciones de movimiento que puedo configurar a mi gusto o desactivar; la app TAPO es gratis y guarda el red de internet y la clave de modo que no hay que buscarla ni escribir la clave cuando añadimos una nueva cámara; la configuración de las cámaras es muy sencilla; la app permite la opción de guardar en la nube lo que la cámara graba o se puede grabar en micro SD (hasta 128 gb) en la cámara; la configuración de una nueva cámara es muy rápida (6 minutos me llevó y 2 minutos es de la actualización del firmware y se hace sola) gracias a que la app guarda los datos de la red; trae tornillos y un papel marcado donde se deben hacer los hoyos para colocarla; una vez colocada en la pared se puede dirigir hacia donde uno quiere. Es una cámara fija, no sigue el movimiento, pero eso era lo que yo quería. Algo sencillo y económico que me permitiera ver en tiempo real lo que pasa en el interior de mi casa. Sugerencias/Tips: 1.- Primero configuren cada cámara y luego las colocan. El celular debe estar cerca de la cámara durante la configuración. Pueden usar el mismo cable a toma corriente para todas las cámaras durante la configuración de cada una. 2.- Desconecten la(s) cámara(s) que ya configuraron cuando configuren una nueva. En resumen me parece que el beneficio que se obtiene supera el precio que se paga! Ahora falta conocer su funcionamiento a largo plazo…

Inexpensive but great quality, this little camera packs in a ton of features including night vision and person detection. I’ve put two of these up now: garage and sunroom and had them in operation for a few months. I purchased a couple of memory cards to go along with them because I don’t want to pay the subscription costs and I’m wary of having the footage in the cloud.
The person detection is a little hit and miss. Often it’ll pick up the movement of cars or tree branches and sometimes it identifies it correctly as “movement” but a good amount of time it thinks it’s a person. There’s also an “Obstruction detected” notification, which is less frequently wrong but still occasionally triggers when there’s seemingly nothing there or if the camera gets knocked. You can set up exclusion zones, turn off notifications, or turn on privacy mode but that kind of defeats the object.
That aside, the picture quality is great. Doesn’t seem to hog the bandwidth on the wifi and the lag time from live to the app is about what I’d expect given that it’s going over the internet.

Amazing security camera for the price! I have two pointed towards my front through a window, and one in my chicken coop – they work great! I thought I might have connections issues with my one in the coop but I haven’t had any issues with it all all!
I will say, the night mode does produce quite a bit of glare off of the window, but I just turn the porch light on and turn the night mode off and there’s no issue.
The audio isn’t great so I would keep that in mind if you’re going to use them for inside the house, but they have pretty good, clear picture so they work great for my purposes.
The app is easy to use too when you play around with it too. In all, highly recommend!

EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. The night vision is awesome. I am actually reallysurprised on how good the night vision looks . Except for the sound.. The sound is so bad you can’t hear from the two-way speaker. To describe the sound I would say it sounds like someone dropped their phone inside of a pool. The quality is great. It functions well. The view angles are amazing. It’s easy to use. The sensitivity is perfect. And it alerts me whenever I need to be alerted. Everything is awesome, but the sound. The screenshot that I added there looks a little blurry because it’s zoomed in, but the quality is great in real life.

This baby works well and has a great picture quality. I bought this in order to keep an eye on my furbaby. The motion detection works well but scared me a few times when it said person detected. My dog was on the top part of the couch and I literally thought someone had entered my house. But figured out it was just him. It has a good range of recording capabilities The design is small and easily fits on my TV stand. We had a mini earthquake enough to shake it off the stand and it did not crack or scratch the lens. You can tap to talk or call and speak to your dog, cat, partner, child, bird or whatever you use it for. I check in on my dog often and even show ppl what he is doing. A few of my coworkers requested me to send them the item and they purchased it for their pets as well. Most of the time he is sleeping. You can also take a picture. I opt not to subscribe to offer of saving the recordings on a chip or sending it to my cloud. You do have to reset it every 45 days if you do not subscribe but for me that is not a big deal I am saving money. I am using it to make sure my furbaby is ok I do not need a history of recording him sleeping or playing with his toys while I am working. Great purchase, quality and value for your money. It has slightly increased in price since I have purchased it but still reasonable and affordable. The pic on my review is my dog on my couch when the person detection went off.

We needed to get some cameras up and running quickly to keep an eye on an elderly relative who lives alone and is at risk of falling. I can’t tell you anything about the technical aspects of these cameras. We also have not yet decided whether or not we need the SD cards for playback purposes. We just wanted to get something up and running to keep an eye on him in real time. I had no problem downloading the Tapo app to my phone, and it immediately found and connected the four cameras. Within minutes we were able to see what we needed. The angle is wide enough to get most of the rooms in the picture. We can zoom in easily and get an excellent close-up view. We can hear sound from his home, but we are not using the cameras to speak to him. The night vision inside the house is fine, though we are not using them outdoors yet. I admit I have not taken the time to read the user manual yet, so there may be ways around the one thing that annoys me. If I have “receive notifications” checked, my phone is pinging constantly – first it says “motion detected” followed by “person detected.” This is overkill in my opinion, though I can see why it would be important to distinguish between the two. I have not found a way to receive silent notifications, though again, I have not read the manual. We have not had any problems with the cameras disconnecting from the Wi-Fi yet. Overall, these cameras are doing exactly what we needed, and they are easy to set-up, and inexpensive to purchase.

This baby works well and has a great picture quality. I bought this in order to keep an eye on my furbaby. The motion detection works well but scared me a few times when it said person detected. My dog was on the top part of the couch and I literally thought someone had entered my house. But figured out it was just him. It has a good range of recording capabilities The design is small and easily fits on my TV stand. We had a mini earthquake enough to shake it off the stand and it did not crack or scratch the lens. You can tap to talk or call and speak to your dog, cat, partner, child, bird or whatever you use it for. I check in on my dog often and even show ppl what he is doing. A few of my coworkers requested me to send them the item and they purchased it for their pets as well. Most of the time he is sleeping. You can also take a picture. I opt not to subscribe to offer of saving the recordings on a chip or sending it to my cloud. You do have to reset it every 45 days if you do not subscribe but for me that is not a big deal I am saving money. I am using it to make sure my furbaby is ok I do not need a history of recording him sleeping or playing with his toys while I am working. Great purchase, quality and value for your money. It has slightly increased in price since I have purchased it but still reasonable and affordable. The pic on my review is my dog on my couch when the person detection went off.

Love this Camera! It actually works just as well as the more expensive ones and has the same amount of features. It has a speaker button so you can speak through the camera itself and hear whatever is going on in the room. It has a recording feature as well and motion sensor. During the day it is color and at night it switches to night vision, which is black and white. The night vision works better than I expected and is super clear. I took a screenshot from the camera of a completely dark room my husband was sleeping in, and you can see everything! AAA+++ All the way!

I’ve been using this Tapo camera for a couple months now and I’m honestly impressed. The video quality is sharp and clear both day and night. The pan and tilt function works smoothly through the app, and I can cover my entire living room without any blind spots.
Setup was super easy I downloaded the Tapo app, scanned the QR code, and was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I love that it supports microSD storage (I’m using a 128GB card) so I don’t have to pay for cloud unless I want to. The motion detection and notifications are pretty accurate. It even picked up my baby crying in the middle of the night. I use the two way audio to talk to my baby when I’m out the sound is decent on both ends.
One small thing: when it’s really dark, the night vision gives off a faint clicking noise when switching modes not a dealbreaker, but something to know.

Amazing security camera for the price! I have two pointed towards my front through a window, and one in my chicken coop – they work great! I thought I might have connections issues with my one in the coop but I haven’t had any issues with it all all!
I will say, the night mode does produce quite a bit of glare off of the window, but I just turn the porch light on and turn the night mode off and there’s no issue.
The audio isn’t great so I would keep that in mind if you’re going to use them for inside the house, but they have pretty good, clear picture so they work great for my purposes.
The app is easy to use too when you play around with it too. In all, highly recommend!

The camera works great but you have to make sure you have good Wi-Fi connection or it won’t work. The only reason I give it 4 stars. I like that you can talk back, I use mine for baby so he coos back at me through it lol. We co-sleep so it’s good to watch him in the room when he’s napping to make sure he doesn’t decide to roll when I’m not laying with him. The picture is clear and the app works easy. Easy setup. You can turn off notifications and just check in because it senses every single movement so if you have a cat it goes crazy! 😂 for the price I’d definitely recommend as long as that wifi is strong.

The photo you see is from the Tapo app, taken at night, during a fairly heavy snowstorm in Quebec Canada ey! The camera is setup in the bedroom, so picture is seen through a window, not bad ey! I also own an Ezviz indoor camera(CN6060 I believe) setup through a window also, but the light on the camera reflects in the window so I can’t see anything at night. Tapo says night vision extends to 30 ft, but as you can see, houses on the other side of the street are at least 75 feet away and you can still see them, although I am sure streetlights help a lot. Night detection is 30 feet, maybe more. I set up the camera to detect persons only, and it works fine as long as persons step on my property. It does detect some persons on the street, if they walk on my side of the street.
Audio is decent too, have not really used it, but did hear my wife that was standing at least 15 feet away from the camera. She made me turn audio off, camera is in the bedroom after all! :- I
Setup is very easy, done in 10-15 minutes on both iPad and iPhone. This thing is so light, I taped it to the top of the window, upside down, adjusted the angle, reversed the picture in the app and I was done.
You can view the camera feed on a computer through VLC media player (VideoLan, it’s free to download). You need to setup a separate, free Tapo account account for this, I have read somewhere in the Tapo help that you can do everything with one account, but it did not work for me. Doc should be made clearer about this. After 3 days, the feed does not show on VLC anymore (still works fine on iPhone and iPad), but I will reboot eventually and it will probably work again. I need to input username and password in VLC everytime I want to see the feed, maybe I will dive into the VLC help and automate this.
I have bought a micro SD card (128Gb max for this model) and will install it soon. Doc says that if you put in a card, the feed to external device (VLC in this case) will not work. I hope this is not the case, will see.
Best part is that no membership is required. You get a 30-day free trial, but external feed will not work with membership or free trial, so I cancelled it before trying it out, so I can`t comment on membership.
There is a 2K and maybe even 4K model of this camera, but since I own over 20 smart devices, my Wifi is not as fast as it used to be, Full HD is enough for now.
This is a great camera, even more so if you’re new to smart devices. I will probably buy a few more soon, especially if it stays or goes on sale again. ”Alexa, show me camera two”!
Update Jan 23rd: Viewing the camera stream through VLC Media player stopped working after 2-3 days, VLC cannot connect to the camera. I setup Agent DVR free software instead and it works OK, but the picture is a bit grainy, but it does record detected persons automatically.
Update Jan 28 2024: I have seen a review that says you have to pay the subscription fee for motion detection to work, this is not true. Motion detection (I set it to person detection only) works fine, I get a notification on my phone (see photo in french cause my iPhone is set to french) when a person is detected.

This Tapo C100 unit arrives in perfectly new condition and works great in general.
The hardware is good for use with convenience. The base mounting ball swivel allows for 360° rotation. The power cable is long enough (around 3 meters) for versatile setup plans across one’s room. The microphone… well it just works. Beware the C100 unit only supports 2.4G WiFi so make sure your AP or router enables that.
Software support in Tapo app is pretty robust. Some features are behind paywall, though Tapo does offer everone a free month trial and promise not to automatically charge you by the end. Nonetheless, the app could still use more polishing in customization and recording management. The camera supports local backup with micro SD card. However, apart from simply viewing, the Tapo app does not support deletion or download of any specific video recording from SD card at this time; instead, one must take out their card to manage their recordings on a PC or whatnot. This could have been a software feature.
The C100 camera and Tapo app also natively support password-protected RTSP streaming over TCP/UDP for use with your NVR; check Tapo support website for setup guide in FAQ section. I absolutely appreciate this feature since some other camera manufactures go to great lengths to discourage you from using camera features outside their walled garden proprietary apps.
All above, Tapo C100 is a worthy product for anyone looking for a functional camera bang for your buck.

I got this after my dog had surgery so I could keep an eye on him in his crate and make sure he wasn’t licking his incision. I do not take full advantage of all the features so I can’t comment on everything, but it works exactly a I needed it to.
Set up was easy with very clear instructions. This camera will require an app download, but does not require any sort of subscription. This means I can open the app and watch the live feed anytime, but if I wanted to record, which I don’t care about, I would need a sub or an sd card. Since I don’t need to record, I appreciate the ability to bypass any of that and still have the camera work.
I’m reviewing in the app which won’t let me attach a screenshot, but I like that it has night vision, so I can see him even in low light, and I also can zoom in if I need to take a closer look (is he chewing his incision or a toy?)
I do not use the talk feature so I cannot comment on the audio or ease of use. My dog comes to work with me so I don’t typically use it to monitor during the day, but I have used it while away from home and it’s easy to see and connects well. I also don’t bother with the blurring feature since I’m the only one with access to the feed.
Picture quality is decent! I can easily see anything I need to on the camera, even in night mode.
Overall I am thrilled with this purchase for the purpose I bought it for.

So I’m only giving it a 4 star bc the talking feature isn’t clear and doesn’t work properly. …BUT OVERALL!!! I love the camera and what it does the video is clear and the motion sensor is VERY on point. The price was affordable and the quality is great. I used a command strip to place mine and that was very great as well for my place which is an apartment and I don’t want to mount it and even still the camera is very secure thanks to the way the camera stand comes as well.

These cameras are great. They catch all the movement, have great clarity and the night vision on them is amazing. The app is free, or you can choose a package for storing your videos. I chose not to do that bc I can see what I need to see and go back and look at it, also you can download it so there’s really no need. I have arlo setup outside and was looking for something less pricey for inside. My coworker suggested these and I’m so glad he did. I want to buy a few more. For the price, this cannot be beat. The setup was simple and fast. You can’t put a price on peace of mind. These little guys are under $20 and I consider that an absolute steal. Worth every penny, and then some.

Excellent product for the price as they were less than $20 each. Super easy to setup and connect. All you need is a power drill with a 1/16 drill bit to mount to the wall and a Phillips head screwdriver. No tape, no measuring and no hassle. Comes with a drill guide card so you know exactly where to drill. Also comes with a power cord, instruction sheet, mounting screws and regular screws. All you do after mounting is plug in the power cord, download the app, connect to your WiFi, insert an SD card, format the card from the app and you can see every room where you’ve installed and connected a camera right from your phone. The picture quality is very clear but distance can be a factor after about 25 feet. Also has night vision and a record function so you can watch and record at the same time. Also has motion detection which is very effective and notifies you by phone every time there is a slight movement in the room. Picks up audio and it gives you the option to store to the cloud if you’re willing to pay for the subscription service. Otherwise you can use a micro SD card to store data. I’m very satisfied with my purchase and will buy again. I just hope that this specific model will not be discontinued anytime soon.
Additional info: The power cord is at least 10 feet long or more so you probably will not need an extension cord to mount the camera high up and close enough to an outlet. Just be mindful of where you choose to mount. This can be more challenging in homes with pets and small children.

Normalmente compraba las camaras AKASO, pero me sorprendio la calidad de estas.
Escribo esta nota por si alguno presentó problemas o dificultades de instalación, a mi me pasó, compre dos camaras la primera se instaló sin problemas siguendo las indicaciones de la aplicación TAPO TP LINK, pero al querer instalar la segunda se instalaba pero solo en la red wifi de la camara o al desinstalarla ya no se podía instalar de nuevo. Mis reocmendaciones: 1. no actualizar el firmware (Al menos no antes de instalar) 2. reinicia la camara con el boton y/o sal de la aplicación de tu telefono y vuelve a entrar. E instala. 3. Asegurrate que una vez que haya detectado el wifi propio de la camara, la aplicación busque el wifi de tu casa. 4. cuando vayas a instalar una nueva camara DESCONECTA TODAS LAS DEMAS CAMARAS, asi solo detectará la camara que vas a instalar.
Espero que te haya servido yo perdí como dos horas hasta que dicon la solución. Pero en lo general el proceso de instaación es muy sencillo.

The picture is great and it does the job for little money. You have to have a micro card to see and save any video or you pay monthly for their cloud. It’s wireless but has to be plugged. The instructions are not clear so took me a bit to figure out and format the micro card which got me a bit frustrated as I wish it was clearer but I got it all set up and it just works fantastic. I will be buying more.

I bought two of these and the Pt travel router, which has every option and different configurations to plug it in to a hotel room or whatever works like a charm to figure it out. I’m so glad I bought these. These are great. They have a panoramic vision view. You can look at the view on your phone if you hook it up to the Wi-Fi in the at the property where you are it works from afar so if you’re out and about it as a cloud service, I use a local card to put in mine just one from Babyz Corner you can erase those easily anyway it works great. It works the night vision it picks up sound. You can also use the microphone so you can tell someone to get out of your space or maybe you wanna send a message or talk to your dog it’s great. It’s great inexpensive and great. The cord is about 10 feet long. It looks like it I’ve got plugged in right now and it’s really a long cord. Anyway these are great. They attached to the wall sit up straight. You can hide them. I have a white window in the black one, hiding them by putting them against or near something that’s black and then vice versa for the white obviously that’s what I did because I’m in a hotel room. I can’t touch the wall and I really don’t want to and I tell someone in some nonchalant way that I’m oh yeah that camera in my room just because I don’t wanna cross some line but at least then someone knows I’ve got cameras in my room just in case someone comes in I’ve got a record of that visit if I’m there or not there

un zoom muy bueno; audio bidireccional puedo hablar con alguien cerca de la cámara en mi casa estando yo fuera y lejos; me envía notificaciones de movimiento que puedo configurar a mi gusto o desactivar; la app TAPO es gratis y guarda el red de internet y la clave de modo que no hay que buscarla ni escribir la clave cuando añadimos una nueva cámara; la configuración de las cámaras es muy sencilla; la app permite la opción de guardar en la nube lo que la cámara graba o se puede grabar en micro SD (hasta 128 gb) en la cámara; la configuración de una nueva cámara es muy rápida (6 minutos me llevó y 2 minutos es de la actualización del firmware y se hace sola) gracias a que la app guarda los datos de la red; trae tornillos y un papel marcado donde se deben hacer los hoyos para colocarla; una vez colocada en la pared se puede dirigir hacia donde uno quiere.
Es una cámara fija, no sigue el movimiento, pero eso era lo que yo quería. Algo sencillo y económico que me permitiera ver en tiempo real lo que pasa en el interior de mi casa.
Sugerencias/Tips:
1.- Primero configuren cada cámara y luego las colocan. El celular debe estar cerca de la cámara durante la configuración. Pueden usar el mismo cable a toma corriente para todas las cámaras durante la configuración de cada una.
2.- Desconecten la(s) cámara(s) que ya configuraron cuando configuren una nueva.
En resumen me parece que el beneficio que se obtiene supera el precio que se paga!
Ahora falta conocer su funcionamiento a largo plazo…

I’ve put two of these up now: garage and sunroom and had them in operation for a few months. I purchased a couple of memory cards to go along with them because I don’t want to pay the subscription costs and I’m wary of having the footage in the cloud.
The person detection is a little hit and miss. Often it’ll pick up the movement of cars or tree branches and sometimes it identifies it correctly as “movement” but a good amount of time it thinks it’s a person. There’s also an “Obstruction detected” notification, which is less frequently wrong but still occasionally triggers when there’s seemingly nothing there or if the camera gets knocked. You can set up exclusion zones, turn off notifications, or turn on privacy mode but that kind of defeats the object.
That aside, the picture quality is great. Doesn’t seem to hog the bandwidth on the wifi and the lag time from live to the app is about what I’d expect given that it’s going over the internet.

I picked this up to keep an eye on our baby’s room and to use as a general security cam when we’re away. It’s been great for both. For the price, it really delivers.
Setup took less than 10 minutes. The app walks you through everything, and once it’s connected, the live feed loads quickly. The video quality is surprisingly clear, even at night. We’ve used it mostly in low light, and the night vision works well. No weird blurriness or lag.
One of the features I didn’t expect to like as much as I do is the motion detection. It sends alerts straight to my phone, and they’re pretty accurate. Not overly sensitive but still pick up what I need. I also like that it supports both local storage (with a microSD card) and cloud, so you’re not locked into a subscription if you don’t want it.

Amazing security camera for the price! I have two pointed towards my front through a window, and one in my chicken coop – they work great! I thought I might have connections issues with my one in the coop but I haven’t had any issues with it all all!
I will say, the night mode does produce quite a bit of glare off of the window, but I just turn the porch light on and turn the night mode off and there’s no issue.
The audio isn’t great so I would keep that in mind if you’re going to use them for inside the house, but they have pretty good, clear picture so they work great for my purposes.
The app is easy to use too when you play around with it too. In all, highly recommend!

The sound is so bad you can’t hear from the two-way speaker. To describe the sound I would say it sounds like someone dropped their phone inside of a pool. The quality is great. It functions well. The view angles are amazing. It’s easy to use. The sensitivity is perfect. And it alerts me whenever I need to be alerted. Everything is awesome, but the sound. It has a good range of recording capabilities The design is small and easily fits on my TV stand. We had a mini earthquake enough to shake it off the stand and it did not crack or scratch the lens. You can tap to talk or call and speak to your dog, cat, partner, child, bird or whatever you use it for. I check in on my dog often and even show ppl what he is doing. A few of my coworkers requested me to send them the item and they purchased it for their pets as well. Most of the time he is sleeping. You can also take a picture. I opt not to subscribe to offer of saving the recordings on a chip or sending it to my cloud. You do have to reset it every 45 days if you do not subscribe but for me that is not a big deal I am saving money. I am using it to make sure my furbaby is ok I do not need a history of recording him sleeping or playing with his toys while I am working. Great purchase, quality and value for your money. It has slightly increased in price since I have purchased it but still reasonable and affordable. The pic on my review is my dog on my couch when the person detection went off.

We needed to get some cameras up and running quickly to keep an eye on an elderly relative who lives alone and is at risk of falling. I can’t tell you anything about the technical aspects of these cameras. We also have not yet decided whether or not we need the SD cards for playback purposes. We just wanted to get something up and running to keep an eye on him in real time. I had no problem downloading the Tapo app to my phone, and it immediately found and connected the four cameras. Within minutes we were able to see what we needed. The angle is wide enough to get most of the rooms in the picture. We can zoom in easily and get an excellent close-up view. We can hear sound from his home, but we are not using the cameras to speak to him. The night vision inside the house is fine, though we are not using them outdoors yet. I admit I have not taken the time to read the user manual yet, so there may be ways around the one thing that annoys me. If I have “receive notifications” checked, my phone is pinging constantly – first it says “motion detected” followed by “person detected.” This is overkill in my opinion, though I can see why it would be important to distinguish between the two. I have not found a way to receive silent notifications, though again, I have not read the manual. We have not had any problems with the cameras disconnecting from the Wi-Fi yet. Overall, these cameras are doing exactly what we needed, and they are easy to set-up, and inexpensive to purchase.

Love this Camera! It actually works just as well as the more expensive ones and has the same amount of features. It has a speaker button so you can speak through the camera itself and hear whatever is going on in the room. It has a recording feature as well and motion sensor. During the day it is color and at night it switches to night vision, which is black and white. The night vision works better than I expected and is super clear. I took a screenshot from the camera of a completely dark room my husband was sleeping in, and you can see everything! AAA+++ All the way!

I’ve been using this Tapo camera for a couple months now and I’m honestly impressed. The video quality is sharp and clear both day and night. The pan and tilt function works smoothly through the app, and I can cover my entire living room without any blind spots.
Setup was super easy I downloaded the Tapo app, scanned the QR code, and was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I love that it supports microSD storage (I’m using a 128GB card) so I don’t have to pay for cloud unless I want to. The motion detection and notifications are pretty accurate. It even picked up my baby crying in the middle of the night. I use the two way audio to talk to my baby when I’m out the sound is decent on both ends.

I like that you can talk back, I use mine for baby so he coos back at me through it lol. We co-sleep so it’s good to watch him in the room when he’s napping to make sure he doesn’t decide to roll when I’m not laying with him. The picture is clear and the app works easy. Easy setup. You can turn off notifications and just check in because it senses every single movement so if you have a cat it goes crazy! 😂 for the price I’d definitely recommend as long as that wifi is strong.

The photo you see is from the Tapo app, taken at night, during a fairly heavy snowstorm in Quebec Canada ey! The camera is setup in the bedroom, so picture is seen through a window, not bad ey! I also own an Ezviz indoor camera(CN6060 I believe) setup through a window also, but the light on the camera reflects in the window so I can’t see anything at night.
Tapo says night vision extends to 30 ft, but as you can see, houses on the other side of the street are at least 75 feet away and you can still see them, although I am sure streetlights help a lot. Night detection is 30 feet, maybe more. I set up the camera to detect persons only, and it works fine as long as persons step on my property. It does detect some persons on the street, if they walk on my side of the street.
Audio is decent too, have not really used it, but did hear my wife that was standing at least 15 feet away from the camera. She made me turn audio off, camera is in the bedroom after all! :- I
Setup is very easy, done in 10-15 minutes on both iPad and iPhone. This thing is so light, I taped it to the top of the window, upside down, adjusted the angle, reversed the picture in the app and I was done.
You can view the camera feed on a computer through VLC media player (VideoLan, it’s free to download). You need to setup a separate, free Tapo account account for this, I have read somewhere in the Tapo help that you can do everything with one account, but it did not work for me. Doc should be made clearer about this. After 3 days, the feed does not show on VLC anymore (still works fine on iPhone and iPad), but I will reboot eventually and it will probably work again. I need to input username and password in VLC everytime I want to see the feed, maybe I will dive into the VLC help and automate this.
I have bought a micro SD card (128Gb max for this model) and will install it soon. Doc says that if you put in a card, the feed to external device (VLC in this case) will not work. I hope this is not the case, will see.
Best part is that no membership is required. You get a 30-day free trial, but external feed will not work with membership or free trial, so I cancelled it before trying it out, so I can`t comment on membership.
There is a 2K and maybe even 4K model of this camera, but since I own over 20 smart devices, my Wifi is not as fast as it used to be, Full HD is enough for now.
This is a great camera, even more so if you’re new to smart devices. I will probably buy a few more soon, especially if it stays or goes on sale again. ”Alexa, show me camera two”!
Update Jan 23rd: Viewing the camera stream through VLC Media player stopped working after 2-3 days, VLC cannot connect to the camera. I setup Agent DVR free software instead and it works OK, but the picture is a bit grainy, but it does record detected persons automatically.
Update Jan 28 2024: I have seen a review that says you have to pay the subscription fee for motion detection to work, this is not true. Motion detection (I set it to person detection only) works fine, I get a notification on my phone (see photo in french cause my iPhone is set to french) when a person is detected.

This Tapo C100 unit arrives in perfectly new condition and works great in general.
The hardware is good for use with convenience. The base mounting ball swivel allows for 360° rotation. The power cable is long enough (around 3 meters) for versatile setup plans across one’s room. The microphone… well it just works. Beware the C100 unit only supports 2.4G WiFi so make sure your AP or router enables that.
Software support in Tapo app is pretty robust. Some features are behind paywall, though Tapo does offer everone a free month trial and promise not to automatically charge you by the end. Nonetheless, the app could still use more polishing in customization and recording management. The camera supports local backup with micro SD card. However, apart from simply viewing, the Tapo app does not support deletion or download of any specific video recording from SD card at this time; instead, one must take out their card to manage their recordings on a PC or whatnot. This could have been a software feature.
The C100 camera and Tapo app also natively support password-protected RTSP streaming over TCP/UDP for use with your NVR; check Tapo support website for setup guide in FAQ section. I absolutely appreciate this feature since some other camera manufactures go to great lengths to discourage you from using camera features outside their walled garden proprietary apps.
All above, Tapo C100 is a worthy product for anyone looking for a functional camera bang for your buck.

I got this after my dog had surgery so I could keep an eye on him in his crate and make sure he wasn’t licking his incision. I do not take full advantage of all the features so I can’t comment on everything, but it works exactly a I needed it to.
Set up was easy with very clear instructions. This camera will require an app download, but does not require any sort of subscription. This means I can open the app and watch the live feed anytime, but if I wanted to record, which I don’t care about, I would need a sub or an sd card. Since I don’t need to record, I appreciate the ability to bypass any of that and still have the camera work.
I’m reviewing in the app which won’t let me attach a screenshot, but I like that it has night vision, so I can see him even in low light, and I also can zoom in if I need to take a closer look (is he chewing his incision or a toy?)
I do not use the talk feature so I cannot comment on the audio or ease of use. My dog comes to work with me so I don’t typically use it to monitor during the day, but I have used it while away from home and it’s easy to see and connects well. I also don’t bother with the blurring feature since I’m the only one with access to the feed.
Picture quality is decent! I can easily see anything I need to on the camera, even in night mode.
Overall I am thrilled with this purchase for the purpose I bought it for.

So I’m only giving it a 4 star bc the talking feature isn’t clear and doesn’t work properly. …BUT OVERALL!!! I love the camera and what it does the video is clear and the motion sensor is VERY on point. The price was affordable and the quality is great. I used a command strip to place mine and that was very great as well for my place which is an apartment and I don’t want to mount it and even still the camera is very secure thanks to the way the camera stand comes as well.

These cameras are great. They catch all the movement, have great clarity and the night vision on them is amazing. The app is free, or you can choose a package for storing your videos. I chose not to do that bc I can see what I need to see and go back and look at it, also you can download it so there’s really no need. I have arlo setup outside and was looking for something less pricey for inside. My coworker suggested these and I’m so glad he did. I want to buy a few more. For the price, this cannot be beat. The setup was simple and fast. You can’t put a price on peace of mind. These little guys are under $20 and I consider that an absolute steal. Worth every penny, and then some.

Excellent product for the price as they were less than $20 each. Super easy to setup and connect. All you need is a power drill with a 1/16 drill bit to mount to the wall and a Phillips head screwdriver. No tape, no measuring and no hassle. Comes with a drill guide card so you know exactly where to drill. Also comes with a power cord, instruction sheet, mounting screws and regular screws. All you do after mounting is plug in the power cord, download the app, connect to your WiFi, insert an SD card, format the card from the app and you can see every room where you’ve installed and connected a camera right from your phone. The picture quality is very clear but distance can be a factor after about 25 feet. Also has night vision and a record function so you can watch and record at the same time. Also has motion detection which is very effective and notifies you by phone every time there is a slight movement in the room. Picks up audio and it gives you the option to store to the cloud if you’re willing to pay for the subscription service. Otherwise you can use a micro SD card to store data. I’m very satisfied with my purchase and will buy again. I just hope that this specific model will not be discontinued anytime soon.
Additional info: The power cord is at least 10 feet long or more so you probably will not need an extension cord to mount the camera high up and close enough to an outlet. Just be mindful of where you choose to mount. This can be more challenging in homes with pets and small children.

For the budget this cam is a gem. Add microsd card and it records every motion. Night vision is very clear and easy to install and maintain.
Only thing is it does not work with Google home which I would have enjoyed.

Normalmente compraba las camaras AKASO, pero me sorprendio la calidad de estas.
Escribo esta nota por si alguno presentó problemas o dificultades de instalación, a mi me pasó, compre dos camaras la primera se instaló sin problemas siguendo las indicaciones de la aplicación TAPO TP LINK, pero al querer instalar la segunda se instalaba pero solo en la red wifi de la camara o al desinstalarla ya no se podía instalar de nuevo.
Mis reocmendaciones:
1. no actualizar el firmware (Al menos no antes de instalar)
2. reinicia la camara con el boton y/o sal de la aplicación de tu telefono y vuelve a entrar. E instala.
3. Asegurrate que una vez que haya detectado el wifi propio de la camara, la aplicación busque el wifi de tu casa.
4. cuando vayas a instalar una nueva camara DESCONECTA TODAS LAS DEMAS CAMARAS, asi solo detectará la camara que vas a instalar.
Espero que te haya servido yo perdí como dos horas hasta que dicon la solución. Pero en lo general el proceso de instaación es muy sencillo.

The picture is great and it does the job for little money. You have to have a micro card to see and save any video or you pay monthly for their cloud. It’s wireless but has to be plugged. The instructions are not clear so took me a bit to figure out and format the micro card which got me a bit frustrated as I wish it was clearer but I got it all set up and it just works fantastic. I will be buying more.
